Heads of French companies have expressed their desire to engage in various investment activities in Ethiopia. While discussing with a French delegation led by a French Business Council for Eastern Africa, MEDEF International President Dominique Lafont here on Tuesday Prime Minister Haile-Mariam Dessalegn said government would offer various incentives for companies and potential French investors if they invest in the country.
He said the investment climate coupled with the stable political situation favorable economic policy and immense natural resource would benefit French companies and investors. PM Haile-Mariam said the investment cooperation would further enhance the age-long relation and strong cooperation of the two countries, according to Ethiopian Ambassador to France ambassador Teshome Toga. Ambassador Tehsome said heads of 15 French companies engaged in railway, infrastructure, energy and other sectors have shown interest to join Ethiopia’s booming investment sector.
After the discussion the French Business delegation head Dominique Lafont told journalists that the companies are interested to invest in Ethiopia and to work closely with their Ethiopian counterpart . He said the keen interest of French investors would help further enhance the cooperation and ensure mutual benefits of the two countries.
The visit made by the delegation was co-organized by the Ethiopian embassy in Paris and French Business Council for Eastern Africa , MEDEF International. The Ethio-Djibouti Railway , a gesture for their age-long relation, was constructed 100 years ago by the French government. [ENA]
